Scheduled Maintenance

Maintenance: Timbre Application Layer Update Nov 26, 2025 10:00-11:30 UTC

We will soon be carrying out planned maintenance to improve Timbre’s stability and performance as part of a wider upgrade programme. The fist phase of this work involves a DNS switch to serve the application layer of Timbre from a new environment.

What this means for Timbre users:

You may be logged out of Timbre as the work takes place. Simply sign back in to continue working.

There may be brief, temporary delays when accessing the Timbre interface while the system updates complete.

All audio, feeds, and assets used on websites, apps, and syndication partners will continue to work as normal. Listener access to your content will not be interrupted.

This is the first step in a planned series of improvements, and this phase is designed to be low-impact.

Thank you for your patience while we continue to enhance Timbre for all users.

Completed - The scheduled maintenance has been completed.
Nov 20, 00:00 UTC
In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.
Nov 19, 23:00 UTC
Scheduled - We will be booting an out-of-service edge server during the specified maintenance window. This server hosts vms across all edge server stacks.

Our engineers will be on hand to perform this in a controlled fashion to mitigate impact. While we don’t anticipate any interruption to streams, we are blocking out an out of hours maintenance window should there be any unexpected impact to live audience.

Nov 19, 2025
Resolved - We have monitored stability since this mornings audience drop. We shall maintain our contact with the service provider to ensure that the necessary actions are taken to mitigate any such occurence in future.
Nov 19, 16:54 UTC
Monitoring - At approximately 10:24 this morning, we saw a short period of increased audience disconnections across our network. This will have affected listener connections via multiple ISPs across the UK and EU. Some ISPs will have been disproportionately affected due to their routing preferences (we noticed a disproportionate drop in the UK for connections on Sky, for instance).

Our investigation shows the issue originated from an upstream Internet provider (RETN) whose network sits between our edges and several major ISPs. When their routes briefly degraded, listeners using affected ISPs experienced short connection drops. As such, we do not believe this issue was isolated to the SharpStream network.

There were no platform changes or deployments on our side at the time.

We have already raised this with the provider and are waiting for further detail. We will share any updates as soon as we have them.

Completed - The scheduled maintenance has been completed.
Nov 13, 02:00 UTC
In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.
Nov 12, 23:00 UTC
Update - Due to unforeseen circumstance, the maintenance originally planned for this evening will not be proceeding as scheduled and will instead occur next week.

Maintenance date: Nov 12, 2025 - 11:00PM UTC, ending at Nov 13, 2025 - 2:00AM UTC.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Nov 5, 16:24 UTC
Scheduled - We will be carrying out a planned update to the monitoring software that keeps track of live stream health and performance.

Impact
We don’t expect any disruption to live streams during this maintenance. The update has already been thoroughly tested on our development systems. There may be brief blips in monitoring availability as the update is performed.

Nov 12, 2025
Resolved - following a period of monitoring we can confirm the servers in the affected datacentre are stable.
Nov 12, 16:25 UTC
Investigating - We are aware of an audience drop across live services that occured this morning at 11:25am. After initial investigation we have isolated the affected audience to a single datacentre.

We shall continue to investigate the nature of this issue to determine a root cause. We do not expect any continual disruption at this time.
