Scheduled
We will be carrying out network configuration work in one of our core datacentre locations to bring a new device fully onto the network and enable internet access via an existing upstream connection.
This work is part of ongoing capacity and infrastructure build-out and does not involve changing existing production traffic paths.
During this window we will:
- Apply base configuration to a new network device so it can join our internal network - Make minor switch configuration changes so the new device can communicate with the wider network - Update router configuration to allow the new device to access the internet via an existing upstream connection, as the usual routes are not yet available - These changes involve adding new internal network ranges and announcing them through our network, alongside the routes that already exist today.
Impact:
- No impact to existing production traffic is expected - All work is limited to enabling connectivity for the new infrastructure - Live services should remain available and operate as normal
Risk management and rollback:
- We have prepared a set of revert commands for the switch to restore its current configuration if needed - Router changes will be applied with standard rollback protections, including automatic rollback if connectivity is lost
