Ingest B-Feeds Server Migrations Sep 16, 2026 09:00 - Sep 17, 2026 15:00 UTC

Following last week's work to announce our new datacentre to our network and a succesful week of soaking, we will be switching our ingest-bfeeds servers to the new datacentre

This will mean that your ingest connections to b-feeds will be routed to a new location.

We have set a long maintenance window for this work to allow a methodical switchover process and extensive time to monitor. As such, some of this work will be taking place in-hours.

Given that these are b-feeds servers, this will not impact audience. You will observe that your bfeed encoders may briefly disconnect as they establish a connection to the new DC.

Please ensure your b-feed encoder setting is set to automatically reconnect to avoid any sustained disconnections.

Scheduled - We are updating our network routing so that a new datacentre can start handling a portion of live traffic. This is part of ongoing capacity and resilience improvements across our delivery network.

No changes to your configuration or stream URLs are required as part of this work.

Note: This maintenance will take place during business hours to ensure the necessary availability of internal teams and external network providers. We will complete the changes within the specified maintenance window and actively monitor traffic and routing throughout the day.


Expected Impact:

- Some network paths for incoming contribution streams (both primary and backup feeds) may change as traffic starts using the new datacentre edges.
- We do not expect listener-facing interruption as this is a network routing update, not an application or service change.
- Our team has optimised the routing configuration following previous incident analysis to mitigate any potentially disruptive behaviour during this work.

Identified - Our team have been investigating the issue and have found the root cause relating to an internal application. We will be implementing a fix to restore log shipping and backfill missing data. We do not expect any data loss from this incident.
